TomTom has been selected by Intel and fashion retailer Opening Ceremony to provide a real-time location-based service for the MICA, “My Intelligent Communication Accessory”, a fashion bracelet announced yesterday by Intel.
The cellular connected-bracelet offers notifications, calendar reminders and alerts about messages from a list of VIPs selected by the user.
Using TomTom’s location-based services, users can receive estimated time of arrivals to precise locations, as well as intelligent ‘Time to Go’ reminders that take into account the time to leave to reach the next appointment.
The new MICA bracelet will be available in early December exclusively in the U.S., the price has not been communicated thus far.
This is obviously not a mainstream product, but a show case of Intel know-who for luxury wearables.
